Jessica is a CODA with 20 years of ASL teaching experience in grades K-12. She is a Principal for Family Partnership Charter School in Anchorage, Alaska, while also developing and teaching ASL classes online. She has a passion for creating an L1 curriculum for Deaf students and developing ASL Concepts. During her free time, she enjoys the great outdoors-going camping, cycling, & fishing, bringing her husky along. She is Deaf. She currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her husband, who is also deaf and is an engineering wizard, and a daughter who is KODA, who loves to spark the world. She graduated from Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. Go Dragons! She graduated with a Master's in Deaf Education. She has over ten years of deaf education teaching and is now teaching college-level ASL at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). She is currently working on her doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and hopes to elevate the awareness and needs for American Sign Language (ASL) in higher education administration and leadership. During her free time, she spends time with her family and friends and likes to explore nature in the State of Tennessee. She learns every day about the state itself. She is a beach bum and always tries to find time to visit her home state, Florida. In addition, she is a busy super mom attending her daughter's dance and gymnastic classes and supporting other mothers. Her favorite celebrity is Paul Walker. She said, "If I was in another lifetime, I would be a car racer." Her favorite food and drink are to order is pepperoni pizza and wine so she can stay in her cozy backyard to unwind with friends and family. That is her favorite thing to do on Fridays!
Founder of Creative ASL Teaching blog and American Sign Language materials. She has 20+ years of teaching experience in ASL. Robin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies from California State University Northridge and a Master’s of Science in School Counseling from the University of LaVerne. She teaches ASL and Physical Education at Sage Creek High School in Carlsbad, CA. Robin is a workshop presenter on ASL curriculum, standards, educational technology, and second language acquisition. Robin also works as a consultant to help other schools establish and maintain thriving ASL programs. She is a new teacher mentor, a Fellow in the California World Language Project, and the World Language Department Chair. Her passion is to support ASL teachers in their journey to become creative innovators and leaders in the field of World Language instruction.
Born in Brazil, Sabrina first got involved with the Deaf community while she was working towards her undergraduate in social work. She worked as a Brazilian Sign Language interpreter for five years, and acquired a Master's degree in Social Work. Upon moving to America, she got two degrees from San Diego Mesa College in ASL studies and ASL/English Interpretation, and holds a Master's in Teaching American Sign Language from the University of Northern Colorado. She is an ASLTA certified teacher, and has been teaching ASL for the past seven years in private high schools.

Born in sunny Florida, and living in Alaska, Laura Beth comes with over 20 years of experience in the interpreting profession, as well as teaching ASL to grades 3 through 12 and at the university level as well. Laura will begin teaching ASL to high school students in the fall of 2022-23 school year. During her free time, Laura Beth enjoys walking, cycling, fishing, gardening, and snuggling up to a good book.
Meet Melissa Ibanez! This is her fourth year joining the ASLHS board as a Graduation Shipment Coordinator. Born in Wisconsin and moved to Texas at a young age. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Deaf Education at Gallaudet University. Melissa is currently teaching ASL 1-4 at South Texas College. She taught Deaf Ed for 10 years and part-time ASL for 5 years. Full-time teaching ASL 4 years. Melissa is also a Girl Scout Co-Leader.
Meet Devin Hasty! This is her fourth year joining the ASLHS board as a public relations coordinator. She is Deaf. Born and raised in North Carolina and currently lives in New York. She received her bachelor's degree in Human and Community Service at Lenior Rhyne University, NC, and a Master's degree in Teaching ASL in 2016 at the University of Northern Colorado. She is currently teaching K-12 at Rye Middle School in Rye, NY. Go Garnet! She enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family and friends and decorate her home.
Meet Roxann Coffman! This is her first year joining the ASLHS board as a recruitment coordinator. Growing up with a Deaf cousin gave her the spark to want to learn sign language and she took formal classes at the University of Texas - Pan American which is located on the Texas/Mexican border. She then transferred and graduated from Lamar University with a Masters Degree in Deaf Education/Deaf Studies. For ten years, she was an Educator for the Deaf teaching Deaf students from Pre-Kindergarten to 2nd grade. For four years, she taught ASL at the high school level and loved establishing an ASLHS chapter, a dual credit course, and putting on Sign Language Concerts for the Deaf community. The past 3 years she have worked with Houston Community College and an adjunct professor in their program. Sign Language is a beautiful part of her life and the Deaf friends she have made throughout the years have opened her heart and mind into their beautiful culture. Through teaching, she hope to open many more hearts and minds to the Deaf World.
